Magpie and Rye offers a curated selection of accessories -- both for the home and for the body. We gravitate towards raw materials and natural designs, and love pieces that remind us of our ancestry and the history of the Americas. Most (though not all) designers we carry are from the North American continent and choose to make things by hand.
Magpie and Rye is a member of the Prairie Collective, a trio of small businesses sharing a space and aesthetic in San Francisco's Western Addition. Here, you will find fresh floral arrangements and vintage wares together with jewelry and home accessories. Though each business is unique, we all share a love of nature, souvenirs of the past and things that are a little wild, a little undone.
Magpie and Rye is helmed by Annabelle Rey, a fine artist by training who grew up in the mountains and plateaus of The West. The name, Magpie & Rye, sprung from a road trip in the winter of 2008 and was chosen for it's nostalgic allusion of pastoral America. From her adolescence split between the Mountains of Colorado and a sheep ranch in British Columbia, Annabelle now lives in Oakland, California with her husband and their dog.
